Disposal of Surplus County Property

The Office of Procurement & Diversity conducts Public Auctions of surplus or obsolete County equipment in accordance with Section 307.12 of the Ohio Revised Code.  Our three (3) prime auction categories are:

VEHICLES, OFFICE FURNITURE AND EQUIPMENT SCRAP METAL

To become an auction subscriber please call the Office of Procurement & Diversity.  Public participation in the auction of County property is encouraged, but we advise you read carefully the auction terms and conditions as they apply to minimum bidding, terms and payment, (Cashier's check, certified check, money order, or Traveler's check - payable to "Treasurer of Cuyahoga County.",) removal dates, and penalties for non-compliance.

Our general policies also call for:
  1. All auctions where the anticipated revenues are expected to exceed $2,500.00 are advertised in the Plain Dealer.  Notices are posted in designated public areas for smaller auctions.
  2. All sales are final and all items are sold "as-is".
  3. All auctions are preceded by a public inspection day that bidders are encouraged to attend.
